My Dear Students and Friends,

The Direct experience of Presence and Awakening remain our focus and our guiding light, and I find myself and FOTS on the verge of a deeper transition. I recently noticed a significant inner shift regarding the way I offer teaching and the way we use social media to grow.

After over a year of dedicated efforts, time, and money (including new platforms, beautiful posts and ads, devoted volunteers, and hiring professionals), I see that traditional use and reach of social media is not an effective enough tool for us to grow our sangha and to support this inner movement. We need a multitude of new offerings and ways to engage.

To facilitate the first phase of this transition — and to create the breathing room needed to recalibrate and develop new structures for the future — we are seeking to raise our normal $20,000 and an additional $20,000. [The more money we raise, the easier we can facilitate this process.]

I feel a strong inner call to shift how I share the teaching. Rather than only continuing the rhythm of three-week online programs, I want to create more space for other online offerings and engagements, like shorter satsangs, meaningful interviews, live YouTube and Facebook events, and more, and over time, possibly space to welcome people here in person, to grow and deepen my connection with You,( and to allow what arises to be guided by an even deeper movement of Presence.)

Growing our devoted sangha is for me both a deeply heartfelt expression of this Lineage and a financial necessity for FOTS. Financially, both FOTS and I are sustained entirely by our programs, private sessions, and fundraising, and my health places real limits on how much I can offer in the current structure. Offering new satsang formats requires me to have a lot more time to prepare for and recover from. Yet, my present workload leaves no flexibility for that. This leaves little space for new engagements and for fostering an even deeper connection with me and within the community that I and many of us long for.

To allow for these exciting changes, and for a real lasting global visibility and impact of this simple and yet so profound teaching, we need to change the direction of our energy and focus and invest in new concentrated effort over the next 6–12 months. We need to:

  • Hire a more full-time office person to provide true office support on projects like: more press and interviews for Neelam, organizing new events, social media, data cleanup for enhanced reporting and visibility into the functioning of FOTS, volunteer management, upgrading FOTS technology, fundraising upgrades, and MUCH MORE.
  • Experiment with new satsang formats & retreats, and guest teaching opportunities.
  • Continue refining our branding, overhaul our website, hire a professional photographer. 
  • Later next year, bring in professionals to guide us in expanding our reach globally.
